Portrait of Romain MARI, young skicross athlete
For the last 4 years, TERIA has been supporting Romain MARI, a French alpine skier in the skicross discipline who is a member of the club: C.s Isola 2000…
…
In March 2021, Romain won the overall at the European Skicross Cup and thus earned his ticket to the next World Cup. A native of Val Thorenz, this talented young athlete proudly represents the colours of the TERIA Team.
Higher and higher!
The TERIA Team is delighted to have another champion in its team, with Romain Mari, a young sportsman who achieved a remarkable feat by winning the overall classification of the European Skicross Cup. This victory gave him a direct qualification for the next World Cup.
His skiing career began with an inevitable phase in alpine skiing before turning to skicross at the age of 19. For him, skicross offers a unique dimension, centred on direct confrontation with other competitors. He explains:
“I really enjoy the head-to-head competition, in contrast to alpine skiing where you’re just fighting against the clock. There’s more adrenalin and it requires a more strategic approach that’s just as technical. It’s still an individual sport, but the training is collective and the French team really allows you to surpass yourself.”
The consecration came in Italy, where Romain Mari won the prestigious title of European champion, unlocking his coveted place in theFrench team:
After a season marked by challenges due to injuries and falls, which unfortunately hampered its qualification for the Olympic Games, the 2023-2024 season is shaping up as an opportunity to win back the trophy.
It’s time to overcome the obstacles and aim for personal excellence.

Each stage of this competition represents a real battle, underlining the tenacity and determination needed to reach the top.
He now has the privilege of sharing the training ground with the champions of the French team, benefiting from their invaluable advice and experience. This collaboration with some of skiing’s most emblematic figures strengthens his motivation and his confidence in his own abilities.
